Hanab Energy Solutions has grown significantly in recent years. This growth has increased the organisation’s capacity and ambition, but has also brought growing pains. As a result, individual projects and teams developed their own ways of working, leading to differences in processes, roles and responsibilities. While this provided room for rapid development within a smaller organisation, at its current scale it increasingly resulted in variations in quality, uncertainty about expectations and a strong dependence on individual knowledge holders.
Access to up-to-date processes, templates and documents was also limited and fragmented. The management system was perceived as difficult to use; documents were spread across various Teams and SharePoint environments, while outdated revisions remained in circulation. In addition, much of the process information proved incomplete or outdated: processes had not been documented consistently, supporting templates and work instructions were missing, and there was no central overview of current and applicable information. This created confusion and made efficient and predictable collaboration more difficult.
With Hanab having reached its current scale and level of complexity, combined with its ambition to achieve ISO 9001 certification in Q3 2026, the need for greater structure and predictability became increasingly important.
In this context, Hanab Energy Solutions asked Flux Partners to provide a Programme Manager to establish and lead an organisation-wide improvement programme. Within this programme, Max Alderden guides 21 process owners and 7 process sponsors (Management Team members) through three interconnected phases:
The strength of Flux Partners
At Flux Partners, we believe that sustainable improvement is achieved when structure and human behaviour come together. Our approach goes beyond providing advice: guided by our core values Familiair, Leuk, Uitdagend and Xcellent, we help create a culture in which collaboration and ownership become second nature.
We focus not only on delivering the required results, but also on helping organisations develop the right behaviours among employees and management. Behaviours that encourage people to connect with one another, have the right conversations and take responsibility. As a result, changes are not only documented, but are also genuinely embraced and applied in day-to-day practice.
Hanab Distribution submitted bids for three lots and won all three. The plan achieved 22.5 out of 30 MEAT points.
Together with Hanab Energy Solutions, we are laying a strong foundation for consistent, predictable and controlled ways of working. Processes are clearly documented, roles and responsibilities are well defined, and the organisation works according to one central and up-to-date ‘way of working’. This reduces dependence on individuals and enables new colleagues to be onboarded more quickly and consistently.
In addition, ownership is explicitly assigned to process owners and the Management Team. The organisation is evolving from making improvements on an ad hoc basis to a structured approach to continuous improvement and is well prepared to support further growth in a controlled manner, with independent ISO 9001 certification as a logical outcome.
